In an effort to uphold the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya the focus at Yoga Jyoti has been on a one-to-one teaching methodology. This is based on the belief that no two individuals are alike so to have a common practice for all would be like prescribing ONE PILL FOR ALL. 


Interactions on a personal basis allows us as Yoga Teachers to gain a deeper understanding of who you are & what your goals are. Which will then allow us to connect at a deeper level with you.


Once we understand your needs, we develop a personalized  practice for you that may include some or all of the following tools:


• conscious and mindful breathing

• appropriately sequenced and individualized physical movements

• meditation

• visualization

• use of sound and mantra & more


Each course is carefully constructed to stay well within your capacity and limits. We will then teach you this personal practice (as well as provide you with required instructions) for you to practice on your own. A typical first consultation and yoga session lasts 45-60 minutes. All throughout this process, you are strongly encouraged to check in with your Yoga Teacher with any questions, concerns or personal feedback. Depending on your needs, follow up sessions may be necessary in order to revise and update your personal practice.


We teach Yoga as a complementary system of health, not an alternative one. It supports and works in conjunction with your normal medical treatments, and we ask you to continue your personal health routine as suggested by your doctor or medical professional.
